Found this IE toolbar a week or so ago...Similar to Firefox's developer toolbar, but dare I say slightly better. If you like Firefox's, you'll like this one. It's still in beta though.

Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar

What does that have to do with a developer toolbar? Is there one for the avant browser that has the same stuff the firefox and IE plug-ins do?

Thanks! That is very cool. Too many awesome features to list. The fact that MS themselves put it out is even better.

Crandall:

Why would I use an application written by somebody I don't trust? I'm not sure what's so bad about IE's interface. If tabbed browsing was all I cared about I would switch to Firefox.

Besides, how hard would it be for them to suddenly start installing stuff on people's computers? Stick with the popular mainstream browsers and you'll be better off in the long run.

Who trust's Microsoft???

Bill Gates (& his mates) didn't even write the os core, he bought it off Xerox and then leased it. Ripping off *nearly* every person who has ever owned a computer...

And on Firefox: What about the ability to customize firefox, themes, extensions; (eg. adblock, noscript, stumbleupon).

I think that you have been watching that crappy film where some geezer takes over the entire internet with his browser... LOL ...watch out people Jamie Zawinski is going to take over the world MWA HA HA HA.

now where's that bat signal

Goodness gracious.

Who trust's Microsoft???

Anyone that runs Windows inherently shows some amount of trust in Microsoft. Varying levels perhaps, but still some.

Bill Gates (& his mates) didn't even write the os core, he bought it off Xerox and then leased it. Ripping off *nearly* every person who has ever owned a computer...

This almost isn't worth commenting on it's so wrong. Both Microsoft and Apple took from Xerox's GUI designs. The Windows "os core" had no roots in Xerox technology. In face, the Windows NT kernel (on which Windows 2000 and XP are based) is all Microsoft's own.

As to Firefox, I don't care about themes. I don't really care about most extensions. I'm happy with Internet Explorer which starts up faster, loads pages faster, and is more compatible with most webpages.

Give me a break. If you install a program on your computer, there is always a chance that the author of the software has some way into your system. Perhaps the developers of the Avent browser have made deals with some advertising companies that allows their ActiveX controls to install without prompts? That or any number of other things are possible.

Please think before responding.

Superior marketing of an inferior product will always triumph over inferior marketing of a superior one.

Thanks for setting me straight on the os/gui, I have been watching to many movies as well evidently - He's still one of the richest men in the world and probably a complete git.

This wasn't supposed to be a debate about whether IE or firefox was better...What do any of those firefox features you mentioned have to do with the web developer toolbar? All I said was that IE's developer toolbar is better than the one available for Firefox. If you care to try them both out and tell me how Firefox's is better, by all means do so.
