Hi guys.. Does anyone know it there's a way for a semi-transparent png image to work with internet explorer (using css) ? I normally use firefox but checked the page with ie, and it showed as non-seethrough. I know it's possible to set the background-colour and then alpha something, but to get a picture that's transparent to stay transparent ? Like all the other browsers can ? Thanks in advance

Transparent GIF works in IE, with its own limitations -- Look at the page above, the 1st image. We need to define a 'matte' color if we want to blend the tranparent nicely, which will become a problem if the background is not a solid color.
(by the way, anyone knows if IE 7 can show transparent PNGs?)
Thank you Laler for the reply. Hmm, the tiled picture I've used is 70% visible, wich let's the whole backrgound show underneath, but it's very subtle (theres no completely transparent pixels) - so it should look like, for example a tinted piece of glass on top of some parts of a painting
The thing is, I'm not building a site from scrath, its for a a page I have in this community (even so, this help might come in handy if I/anyone needs to build their own website) So I don't know if javascript will work, I don't really know what javascript is either..
So the only option is to use a plain background color and make it see-through, right ? Is it in any way possible to use some code to make the image stay transparent ?

Loool never mind, I think I'll get it to work. I didn't understand that the car was supposed to be dragged (doh) so I didn't get what the ** they were talking about. I guess I'll get it fixed now, thank you so much
