I am writing to ask you if you would be so generous as to tell me a link adress, where i can find some informations about the configuration of the apache prgramme. I would like to utilise it for making a virtual host, e.g www.myname.ro/.com. Or, at least if you can tell me how can i do it.

I use windows XP and PHPTriad with apache(i do not know the version). I am not sure if this can be helpful to me. I have an internet with external modem and the IP is dynamic obtained.

I hope that my request does not inconvenience you too much and i look forward to receiving your reply as soon as posible.

Before talking about domain names, you should know if/how will people from the internet access the webserver.

Make sure http://localhost works

or test http://your_ip_number:portnumbers/ by using something like validator.w3.org -- see if they can access it

It'll be easier if the problem is more localized :D

* Yes, you can create servers at home, with dynamic IPs (even dialup), as long as the internet can get to your PC.

for educational or similar purpose... To create a real site, using a hosting company is far more efficient.

If you want configuration information, it's best to go directly to the source documentaion.
