On my new PC a Dell XPS400 is currently in need of a re-install of the O/S WinXP MCE 2005 ,this is due to a really nasty spyware attack that crippled the factory install. Dell XPS Team has sent me step by step w/pictures a guide to perform a proper install of O/S using the Dell supplied OEM O/S CD ! Anyway Iam using my old P3 with O/S Windows Me and I.E version 6.0 ,also use Outlook Express ver 6.0 ,any pictures in both of these apps will not show ,instead I get a small x in the upper lefthand corner ? When I right click on the x and then click on the show picture option it still does not show image, the properties say the format of these images are HyperText Transfer Protocol ? How do I get hese images to show when in I.E. and Outlook Express ? I appreciate any help with this issuse and thank all those whom reply !
Sincerely ,Nick

If your talking about Outlook Express

After opening Outlook Express,,, At the top , the toolbar,,,,

Tools>Options> from the tabbed options, > Security ,,, Uncheck the box for >

Block images and other content in HTML e-mail

For IE 6

Again > Tools > internet options > from the tabbed choices ,,, > Advanced > scroll to the Multimedia section and check for the box that says > show Pictures

Should be all you need to do,,,

MSI 845e mb 1 gb ram and a p4 2.4n running fedora 7 xp ,win 2000 advanced server and win 98 SE alot to learn and I know so little !!!!

Both of the settings you recomnd I had already changed so that these images would be shown and still no joy ? Except for the recomendations you gave me there does not seem to be a whole lot of information on the .net on how to troubleshoot this prob ,yet there are literlly hundreds of others that are suffering with the same prob Iam ? Even when I disable my internet sucurity suite via symantec's ani-vitus, spyware protection etc. these images still do not show on most yet not all web sites ,go figure ,its a mystery rapped in a riddle hehe :-) Have a nice day
Nick
