Hey!
I just bought an ibook g4, works great!
however, this is my first mac, and i am having dificulty
writing html.
Ok, i open Textedit, and write my code. However, when i
save it as a .HTML file, i open it up in the browser, and all
i see is my code. I dont see the rendered page?
Does any one know if i am doing something wrong?
I mean i have dreamweaver, but i just love writing raw
code into Notepad (pc). Can i not do this on a mac?
Please let me know how i can just code in a word editor.
Thanks alot!

mac probably just added a .txt extention on top of the .html extention you added (ex: yourwebfile.html.txt) thus making your browser display it as raw text.
try adding quotation marks around the filename and exention when you save (ex: "yourwebfile.html")
this should tell the text editor to save the filename exactly as you typed itby the way this is how you would solve this problem in windows, im not totally sure it will work on a mac but its worth a try

Doesnt seem to be the problem...
Hmm, youd think that this question would be asked in tons
of forums?

Actuall, most web work, in my experience, is done on the PC. MACs do not use file extensions like PCs do. As Jake pointed out, it appears your MAC is opening the files as text files rather than HTML files. Its been many years since I've worked with MACs (thank god) and I'm not sure how you can change the file type. Try opening the file in dreamweaver and saving it out again. That might be a way to make the file appear as an HTML file to your computer.
