Hey, this is probably really simple, but I'm not finding any help anywhere else..so...

When I'm editing a web page in notepad, change something and save the changes, my browser (IE6 and Firefox 1.0.2) continues to show the old page. I hit refresh, and it looks like it is refreshing, but it continues to show the old site.

I have tried clearing the cache, but this doesn't work. (unless I'm deleting the wrong offline files?)

I'm sure it's something simple.....I just don't know what it is!

Thanks in advance,

in your browser settings, check that 'CHECK FOR NEWER VERSIONS OF PAGE ON EACH VISIT' is ticked...

Laler: I should have been more specific, I havn't uploaded them at all, am just trying to preview whats on my local disk!

Jamie_McCoy: Thanks, I think this should work, will try when I get home, and I'm thinking the "'CHECK FOR NEWER VERSIONS OF PAGE ON EACH VISIT' " will be the money shot on this one! Will get back to you all when I'm certain.

thanks for the help all, absoloutly wonderful :-)

Ha......Guess what the problem was....My stupidity... I assumed that when i hit Ctrl-s in notepad it saved the html document I was working on. (It does in Win2k I believe) But apparantly in Me, it does not. So, I was trying to get it to refresh, it was, but I just hadn't saved the changes, though I thought I had...

Stupid!

Thanks all, helped me figure out what I was doing wrong!
