Reply: (edit)There are two possible problems that seem likely. 1) You need to have the DNS records for your domain hosted. There needs to be a DNS server that has an entry for your domain name which points to your IP address. 2) If your web server is behind a router, you will need to set up port forwarding within the router's configuration. Have you tried pinging your domain name to see what IP it resolves to? Michael J

Reply: (edit)thank you for replying.. actually i hve no idea about the DNS record, but i want to host my own domain or setup my own DNS server, my problem is im having hard time to configure my DNS server i have no idea about it :), sorry but i am adventurous i want to do all things on my on. and im confused to which ip i used in my DNS server, is it the 2 ip's i give during the registration or the ip of my router? exapmle(s) external WAN ip: 192.168.0.1 modem router ip: 192.168.0.2 the IP's my ISP gives me: 192.168.0.3-7 my default gateway: 192.168.0.2 DNS that the ISP gives me are 192.168.225.100 and 192.169.8.25 IP's I registered with my domain name are 192.168.0.5 for dns1.mydomain.edu.ph 192.168.0.6 for dns2.mydomain.edu.ph which of that IP's do i need to enter in the reverse lookup zone and in my forwarders? thank you and god bless

Reply: (edit)Sorry, can't help you with that. IMHO, trying to host your own DNS, and to some extent your own website, makes as much sense as generating your own electricity. Can you do it? Yes, but why? Unless you are doing this for educational purposes, it doesn't seem worthwhile to me? you will spend more time keeping your servers up to date than creating/updating your site. But, since you are interested in this I would suggest the following. Make sure you can access your site from a computer outside your internal network using your external IP. If it does not work, you have a problem not related to DNS, such as port forwarding not set up in your router. If you are able to do that then you should post a new thread, probably in the networking forum, regarding "Setting up DNS server". Michael J
