So far so good, everything looks great in firefox, but in internet explorer my sidebar is centering itself over the text. I just cant quite seem to get it stay put. I've been using mostly the design side of dreamweaver to create it. Any suggested fixes would be very very appreciated.

Here's my code,

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Timothy Barrett Photographic Solutions</title>
<style type="text/css">
</div>
</body>
</html>

The code didn't get pasted for some reason...not sure why. I'll try and describe.

The navigation bar is is in a css-p element. In firefox this is fine, but in IE6 the alignment is lost and it gets centered right over the middle of the page. I just can't quite get it to stay put in IE 6. I'm using trying to use dreamweaver for it.

i can't help you directly but i will suggest you read the following links on how to set up your pages so that different css files are processed depending on the browser used by your visitors

then you can set it up a different css file for ie6 ... one that will have your text where you want it with ie6

it may not be possible to use the same css file with firefox and ie ... the links will help you set up separate ones

hope this helps
