I am tring to promote my company website. I have already done some steps so I will go ahead and list them. I am curious, besides the ones I list, are there any good advertisement people could suggest. We are willing to pay so I am basically looking for a means of advertisment that will give the biggest bang for our buck. I guess I am looking for some direction on the best company to work with on this. There are so many, and I dont know which are worth it.
****************
Things I have done
****************1. Entered in meta tags and keywords,etc...
2. Submitted to large volumes of search engines.
3. Submitted to large volumes of free for all enginges. (which ended up sending 500 junk mails a day to my inbox)
4. Link exchanging with like buisnesses (which I prefer not to, because it is putting competition on our own site)
5. A few websites which put a banner on their site for $$$. (we ended up paying about $6.00 per targeted person)If you could reccomend some other methods of good advertisement, success stories with specific companies, or any information on what else I can do please help me out.

I suggest you study this. You also need to investigate having a shopping cart on a SSL site preferably linked to your bank's own e-pay for businesses system rather than Paypal or Worldpay, and do remember to exploit non-Internet exposure to support your site.
Avoid mass e-mailing, it will only generate a negative impact and the returns are as low as mailshots through the postal service or newspapers (< 5% conversion).
