Hi,

I'm trying to get MYSQL running for the first time on my FreeBSD server. The person that will manage my database has asked me to install PHPMyAdmin as that's what he's used to. Any help on how to go about this would be appreciated.

thnaks in advance,
wiredsj

in www.phpmyadmin.net get the package most suitable for your OS...

extract the package to a directory in your www directory, to make it available when accessed by a browser...

the package, when extracted (the ZIP one, the only one I've tried) will already put everything inside a folder named phpMyAdmin-version_here-

so if you extract it into your webroot folder, people can access it by typing http://web_root_location_here/phpMyAdmin-version_here-

and then, you just have to edit a single file called config.inc.php in the phpMyAdmin-version_here- folder...

you can set everything in that config file, you can set only a single username that can use the phpMyAdmin or set multiple usernames with multiple MySQL server...
