I had a godaddy web hosting account for only one day. I found their control panel to be very awkward. I switched to hostgator.com and found good prices and have had great service/uptime for the past six months. Now, no more commercials and let's get on with the show.

Do you have ftp access to his web host account or access to his godaddy (manage the domains) account?

You likely need the ftp access to get to the web files (images, etc).

If you have the ftp (or sftp) password, his user name and the domain name or web server IP, you should be able to ftp or sftp to his webserver account and pull down any files.

If the only thing you need is 'images' that are displayed on current webpages, you could simply right-click on the images and 'Save Picture'. But you will eventually need the FTP info to put the stuff back.

Anyway, if you understand the FTP process, then I probably haven't told you anything that you don't already know. If you need help with how to use FTP, post that and someone can explain.

Or maybe your problem is specifc to how godaddy web servers work.

Download Filezilla portable edition at portableapps.com.

Filezilla is a program that is similar to what you use to view your own computer. It looks like windows explorer.

In Filezilla you use the correct user name and password to connect to the correct domain name.

On the right hand side ought to show the uses domain site when connected.

On the left hand side panel shows your local file system.

You can either drag and drop files like in most windows apps or use mouse click to pull menu such as download.

Just remember which way is upload and download.

Just to confuse you more. I like to make a folder on the site which I call oldsite or something like that. I copy (not move) all of the current files and folders to that new folder. Hopefully I can restore it in case I make a mistake that way.

Godaddy offers a real crummy way to access your site. Don't mess with it. Use Filezilla either the portable edition or installed edition.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.
