I am learning DreamWeaver 8, using the dummies book. I do not follow the first part about using the GET to download a remote web page to your local computer. I am running my web site on a server I own/maintain on my local network.

You can define the site and open up Dreamweaver and connect the site. Once the site is connected, you can able to you GET option by right click any of the file or folder and click get. It will get the file / folder from the web site portal to the local defined folder.

I am also dreamwaever for doing enhancement to my site. please look into my site http://www.salem-radha.com and let me know your valuable feedback.

With regards,

Is it connected?.

If the connection is successful, you can be able to do GET/PUT option. If not, i feel that the site is not connected.

I do see it is connected. When I go see my FTP server app on the web server, I do see the connection.

I think you can refer the screen-shot of site setup (http://www.salem-radha.com/Dreamweaver_Site_setup.htm )that I am having it right now and it is working fine. May be you can compare it and change it accordingly.
