I currently use FileZilla as my FTP client. However, it has one disadvantage, it seems to lack a "synchronize" function. Often the files on my web host and the files on my computer both change, so to keep them all updated I have to download all the files from the server and tell it to only overwrite newer files. Then I have to do an upload to the server and tell it to only overwrite newer files. With several websites, this becomes a great deal of work.

IS there a free FTP program that will check the remote server and my local computer for updated files and synchronize them appropriately?

Many good options were found by googling "ftp sync":

Ironically enought the first hit was a shareware program by the name FTPSync!
