To work seamlessly with FrontPage extensions (which I assume is what the root of your question is) you will need to use a Windows server. If you are just creating HTML file with FrontPage, and using PHP or some other Linux compatible programming language for the scripts, you need nothing special other than a web server (say, Apache).
