Comment: Hello everyone! :D OK, I want to have a forum in my site... How would I do that? I want some good sotware, with options and all of that. I've tried phpNuke, e107, and phpBB, but all 3 of those give me a bunch of PHP files that don't open in my browser, and some HTML files that are blank, and I can't open them in Notepad because they're all messed up, some kind of Linux charset or something... I was looking into IPB (Invision PowerBoard), but I can't find the free version, and it's probably the same as the first 3 I mentioned... What can I use? Thanks! ;) http://www.boredsource.com/sulfurik/ http://tsfc.ath.cx ftp://tsfc.ath.cx hotline://tsfc.ath.cxGiving out blank CD's in my FTP server! :D

Reply: (edit)To use Nuke or PhpBB you will need to have a web server that supports PHP and a MySQL database server. You can't simply open a PHP file in your browser, it has to be processed by a web server. The instructions provided are pretty strait-forward, but depending upon your level of experience you may need to find someone to help you get it set up. In any even, you are going to need to have a solution that requires soem sort of scripting/programming language and a database. The scripting language is required in order to build the dynamic pages and you need the database to store the data.
