Hi,
I'm building a website for a friend of my dad's and he wants to a part of it to use a certain font and I've got no idea what the font is called. Is there any way of finding out other than by searching for days on end?!
The font as he's shown me is on a letterhead which I scanned in for the main header on the website and altered slightly. The site is at http://autocraft.source-designs.co.uk if that'll help at all.
Thanks

There are litterally thousands of fonts. It would be virtually impossible to determine a font from a printed letterhead - there are some that could be easily identified, but other than that...
There has to be an electronic version of the letterhead somewhere. Ask where he had the letterheads printed.
Now, even if you do find out what font was used, you are still in a predicament because the font probably doesn't exist as a standard font on user's computers. There are ways to embed a font on web pages, but I've never seen one that was fool proof. You would greatly increast browser compatability problems and other issues, IMHO. The only way to ensure the font was displayed properly would be to transform the text to images - not advisable.
My recommendation would be to find a web-safe font that is as close as possible to the font he wants to use.

Well the reason I need the font is for a small section below the header, it'll be a flash movie so there won't be any problems with compatibility there (besides the obvious!).
I had a feeling I might need to find out that way. I'm confident he won't actually know, though. Nevermind.
Thanks anyway
