Comment: I created a menu with submenus in Flash and I am having trouble placing it on my webpage. I can get the menu to display and function on the page, but I am having trouble with the formatting. When I place the menu on the page, it bumps all of the text on the page 600px below the menu. The menu, when not expaned is about 100 px, but when it is expaned it is 600px. The text below the menu gets bumped 600px below the menu before the menu is open because the flash object is taking up that much space. Is there a way to "bump" the text up against the bottom of the menu so that when I open a subMenu item the menu item goes over the top of the text.

Reply: (edit)hi .. i don't understand what you really need .. but if i got it right .. you need to put a text under the submenus (when they open) ... if so.. 1- don't do that since that will make your site messed up ... 2- if you wanna do so , i guess the only way is to add the text into your flash movie , as a part of the movie ... and put the menu layer above the text layer ... if i didn't answer your question , plz try explaining more ... :( bye .. and good luck on your site ...

Reply: (edit)You can achieve what you want with layers but it may not be visiable in 100% of browsers. Have a look at this: http://www.loopcoms.com/temp/menu.html

Reply: (edit)hi 3Dave hi all... its true your text will not be visible on all browsers , but it will be visible on all computers that have a flash player installed , and now all new windows version's have it already in the operating system ... so , if flash player will not be installed , the text will not be viewed , and same to the menu that will not be viewed too ... thanks all .. ehab

Reply: (edit)That's what I figured. I didn't want to put the text in the flash portion. Rather, I wanted the flash movie to some how go on top of the html text on the html page. Thanks for the help, but it looks like I'm at a loss. Thanks all

Reply: (edit)When I said it wont be visible in all browsers, I was not referring to whether they have the flash plugin installed or not but whether it is able to render a transparent background for the movie. Have a look at the page I modified (http://www.loopcoms.com/temp/menu.html) in IE which works fine and then try it in mozilla....

Reply: (edit)Have you tried using a style sheet to put the menu on a different z-index then the rest of the page? For example give the menu a z-index of 2 and the rest of the page a z-index of 1. Not positive this will work but worth a try as it only takes a couple of seconds.
