I have a new call of duty clan and im building the website right now so far everything in frontpage seems to be pretty straight forward. But i want to be able to creat a link on the site that will run their call of duty shortcut assuming its at the default location?

No can do buddy. Can you imagine the security risk this would pose? All browsers I know of require the user to download the file (their game exe, in this case - even if it's already on their computer), and then run it if they agree to the "open" prompt.
Sorry there's not better news, -SN
