I want to add an extensive online employment application form to my web site. Im concerned that because the application is three (3) pages long that the results will be messy if they are to be emailed in raw or nearly raw format.

Is there a good web-development (wysiwyg?) app. that can I can use to create the forms and, most importantly, have the resulting information saved in the same html form viewing format to somewhere on the server or emailed in html COMPLETED form viewing format back to human services?
Any helpful advice greatly appreciated, thanks in advance -A.

it depends on the road you want to take:

1. you could learn php and do it yourself ... you will only need to learn what you need to know in order to make it happen ... php is very easy to learn and pick up and you can easily just learn what you need to know

2. you could look for free scripts (php or javascript or other) that will do what you want ... there is a huge amount of free scripts on the net

3. there are a number of sites where you can state your project and programmers will try to outbid each other for your business ... a bit like ebay but for programming projects ... for example, http://www.scriptlance.com/

hope this helps

Hi,

i want to put some backgrund sound into my web page. I use Mozilla Firefox as a browser. I used the following code:

<embed src="Celine Dion - Forget Me Not.mp3" width="50" height="50" autostart="true" loop="true">
</embed>

My problem is that when i acces the page, the song starts to sing but only for a few seconds and then it stops. The song is located in the same directory as the page. I don't have this problem with IE.
Can u give me some ideas?

If you simply email the output of the raw form, you'll get an email that looks something like:

LastName=Simpson
FirstName=Homer
MiddleInitial=J
StreetAddress=732 Evergreen Terrace
CityAddress=Springfield
StateAddress=NT
... etc.

It would be a list of field name = value pairs. Do you want to format it to look something like the original on-screen form, or a printed form? Something like:

Name: Simpson, Homer J
............Last First MI
Address: 732 Evergreen Terrace
..............Springfield, NT 45678

I would submit the raw form data to a page with PHP code that validates (checks) the data (look for missing fields or embedded nasty stuff), then nicely formats the form data into a printable form, and then emails that to the HR department. It depends on how the recipient is going to use this -- are they going to print it out, run it through a utility to enter the data into a database, or view it with a browser? If they're going to read the application with an HTML-enabled email reader, your PHP page could format it with HTML codes. If it's just going to be printed off, you might just format without any markup.

If you don't feel like coding this yourself, as a previous post mentioned, there are all sorts of form -> mail scripts around, such as "formmail" and many similar ones. They might do the job for you.
