Maybe for the "life" you host with them or something, but I have never heard of it. Not sure how they could possibly promise such a thing.

You are allowed to register it for 10 years at a stretch after that it needs to be renewed again.

Network Solutions actually offers 100 years, now that I've researched, which is pretty darn close to "for life." LOL!!

Why anyone would want to register a domain for that long though, is beyond me.

Family business firms, corporates and other organisations may find it convinient.

Many domain registrars offer Domain Years purchase. 1 Domain Year is 1 domain for one year. 10 Domain years is = 1 domain for ten years or 10 domains for 1 year or 5 domains for 2 years or 2 domains for 5 years and so on which adds upto 10 always......its upto you how you want to use up the number of domain years purchased.

Domains registration in Network Solutions are also for 10 years only which is the max allowed. But you will be paying in advance and allowing Network Solutions to renew when required.

"* 100 Year Domain Service – Network Solutions will register your domain name for the maximum term available at the underlying domain registry and then, as long as your domain is registered with us, we’ll add additional years to that registration on an annual basis for a total of 100 years of registration service from the date of your purchase. Service is non-transferable and non-refundable"

Its just an additional service by Network Solutions for auto renewal >not registration for 100 years
