Maybe for the "life" you host with them or something, but I have never heard of it. Not sure how they could possibly promise such a thing.

You are allowed to register it for 10 years at a stretch after that it needs to be renewed again.

Network Solutions actually offers 100 years, now that I've researched, which is pretty darn close to "for life." LOL!! Why anyone would want to register a domain for that long though, is beyond me.
