Hello,
Please forgive me if this is a basic question, I am very new to ASP, and have spent way to long trying to find the answer on the web.I host a web site for my church.
Each week I would like to show what is happening the next week.I would like to therefore have a field that looks up the current date in a database (or txt file). and then prints the relative text from that date (formatted if pos)
ie, on Sun 19 Dec the text should show "Christmas Celebration - 6pm"
Have a look at www.beaconsfieldbaptist.org to get idea of what I mean
Thanks very much for your time, and sorry again for my ignorance!

Hello, I also run a website for a local church and we use a calendar PHP script. It can be found here.
Sorry if I didn't answer your question, but an online calendar has been very helpful in my situation.

Thank you for your reply.
That calender is very impressive, but all I really need is a line of text saying what is happening this week, not a full month!
I have looked at using iframes which the target html page changes each day, but that does seem like a lot of work. If it were linked to a database, i would be a great deal easier!
Looking forward to your help
Michael

does your server supports PHP? ASP can also do, but I'm not very fluent at it...
doing what you want is relatively easy (in both PHP & ASP), but if you're going to use ASP, better wait for someone who's familiar with it :)

are you in Asia? do you watch Animax Asia? Please Vote

Unfortunatly the server does not allow php or cgi.
So I need to either do it in ASP, DHTML or Java.Looking forward to hearing more!
Cheers

Thank you for al your help.
I have finally solved the problem with an external javascript js file.It is not the perfect solution as the text cannot be formatted in the same way as HTML, but it is sufficeint.
Hope this can be of some use to someone,
