Okie! Hey all, I have been surfing for a while now, and did a month or so ago aswell, to try and find an answer to this problem, and failed... but I just about had it now!

I'm building a website, and when everything work's fine and dandy together, everytime I validate it, it screws up the Overflow feature used in the CSS!?!? What am I doing wrong? I'll upload the latest files and give the link:
http://ninjakirby.raicho.co.uk/hide/

It worked PERFECTLY, on both Firefox and IE6 until I went and did the stupid thing of validating it with these so called "Standards" that don't seem to work together. Everyone else who was advised to use overflows said it worked fine for them, I guess they didn't validate :/

Please yell at me if I'm doing something wrong >_< Oh, the page I'm looking at is "news.htm", add it onto the address above. The CSS file is "hide.css", and the news is placed in the Body Frame (Frames page is "bg.htm").

And please, don't give me the, "Omfg, why are you using 5 frames, a popup site and flash?!!? NOOB!" stuff, I know they are bad, real bad, but i'm just doing this for hide and I don't care if it uses deprecated features or whatever the word is ¬_¬

Thanks for your time.

line-spacing <-- line-height: 12px;

vertical-align <-- vertical-align: 50%;
and it supposed to be "middle" anyways, not "center" (this can be applied directly in HTML as valign="middle")

italic <-- font-style: italic;

Right... Now I havn't punched that stuff in yet, but I can already guess your fixing the Index Page vertial alignment error, and just recommending other bits of code, replacing HTML code in CSS? I'm talking about the italic and line-spacing there.

I hated using the H1, H2 and H3 things to begin with, kept on putting bloomin gaps in for me. My brother showed me how to fix it, but at that time I was preoccupied with something, and never went back to changing all my headings to something better then a whole load of messy HTML Format code.

I'll do that in the morning though, thankyou ^_^ I'm getting a bit tired, need to get up early for college and stuff, i'll check back here again though, for the solution to the overflow problem!

Assuming it's overflow I need tbh, just need to be-rid of the damn horizontal scrollbar on the body frame. I used scrollbars set to auto on the frames page, but using overflow which cuts the text off, I'll need to somehow wrap the text that has decided to stretch over to the right (I have margins in place already).

Apologies if this made no sense.

Alright, I'm getting tired of this, I've amassed a load of code; Margin, Spacing and Padding I don't know what the hell is going on :/ I need to get some explanations for these damn features, and figure out why my Heading 4 decides to make everything bold and not italic.

Still no solution which the horizontal bar this end, but I could wait ages for aslong someone knows a fix. I'll upload my latest coding... and I changed the news page into a a table with a single cell, to control the width of the page the text can fill, for some reason it's budged over to the right a little >_< Guess I can use the position command to tell it to shift and stay to the left? Trial and error is my guide!

And the overflows still don't work, I have a feeling it can't even get rid of the horizontal scrollbar anymore :/
