Generally i find that strictly written code that complies 100% with html or xhtml works most of the time as expected with Firefox and have found that also true for netscape. However IE sometimes needs a little help to render things the way you want. Use a basic text editor to make your site if you know how because most wysiwyg editors like Nvu or dreamwevaer generate a lot of code that might not be understood properly by all browsers. Workarounds for Internet explorer problems can usually be found by typing the problem name followed by not working in IE into a search engine.

www.w3schools.com is a good site for learning how to write webpages.

http://css.nu/pointers/bugs-ie.html this site also lists some IE bugs you may encounter.
