Im new to creating a web page. I want to get a guestbook started on my page. Are there any free versions or do I have to fork out money for software. I went to google and typed in "free guestbook" and all I could find is free trials. Can anyone recommend anything good?

Next thing you know, you have money missing and your daughters knocked up! Ive seen it a hundrend times.

Most of the time web hosting comes with free scripts for this kind of thing.

That should do what you want and if that doesn't head over to www.bravenet.com and have a look at their free scripts because the will almost certainly have a good one.

The first thing you need to find out is what languages (if any) your web server supports. Your web server will need to support some type of server side processing such as ASP or PHP. If the server supports ASP you would want to look for something written in VBScrip if PHP, then you need something written in PHP.

Also, many guest books will require a database as well. However, there are some that just put the data into a file.

If your web hosting does not support any type of server side scripting, you will need to find a new provider.
