I purchased an existing website and feel I am getting "hosed" because the seller gave me access to the cpanel and we had agreed that I got the site with the intent of changing the content. Seller will not tell me anything other then the way to change the content is in the public folder. That is all he keeps saying. No specific file mentioned, etc. Could anyone assist me and tell me what file within the public folder would have the front page of the site, so I can edit some of the content. Thanks

the homepage is typically INDEX.HTM or INDEX.HTML or INDEX.PHP or something like that
in my limited experience, i find that using a ftp program such as FILEZILLA http://filezilla-project.org/, i can access my web site using the same access information as for CPANEL
if this works for you, then you can download your site to your computer, do the edits and upload the files you have changed
hope this helps

Hi, go to the public folder directory and search for the home page of the site. Typically home pages naming convention start with 'index' and are followed by the file type extension (e.g. .htm or .html, .swf, .php, .asp, and etc.).
