I have a folder that needs to be 666 and a file inside the folder that needs to be 777. If I chmod the folder it changes the file, if I chmod the file, it changes the folder to the same. How do I stop this? I'm using WS_FTP95LE

weird. It coud be in the server setting or in your ftp client.

I'd try to use other FTP client first, try FileZilla (opensource ftp client). If it doesnt fix it then you need to ask 4 help from the host.
