Hi all. I've finally bitten the bullet after trying to find large amounts of free ftp space (with no success!!). This looks really cheap.. Can anyone advise me on whether this looks like a good ftp space package?
You have unlimited uploads and you can download 50GB of data EVERY DAY (more than i would ever use in a day!). Only $8US/£4UK per month for 5gb of space. You can get different size packages too.
However, if you have needs for some complex user access requirements, then you could always build a web front-end to support whatever requirements you need.
Michael J is right, you would be better off going with traditional web hosting, but go to Go Daddy (http://godaddy.com). 100GB Space, 1000GB/month transfer, $6.99/mo 200GB Space, 2000GB/month transfer, $14.99/mo All of go daddy's plans are listed here: https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosting/shared.asp?ci=260
1 & 1 has GoDaddy beat on larger storage as well. Plus, I would not use them on principle - they are a sleasy, immature company IMO. I prefer to keep my business with businesslike companies.
120GB Space / 1,200GB/mo. transfer: $4.99 250GB Space / 2,500GB/mo. transfer: $9.99
And, I'm not trying to be a spokesperson for them. I don't even use them. I go through a reseller that I know personally.
Most web hosting businesses do care though as many people using FTP for storage only transfer very large files regularily etc. It's pretty cool if they allow it though! Cheers
The level of service you pay for determines the amount of transfer you can use each month. Unless their TOS states that the transfer amount is split up or something like that, how you use that transfer is your business.
Hi. Sorry i've been away for the week. Thanks for the help. How about multiple accounts? I need to be able to set up different users on the ftp server.
