Hi everyone

We are currently trying to update our website for our company and we are having problems sending the web design teams our pictures for them to place. Heres the problem. We are using the Microsoft picture it program, When the files were originally set up we accidently put the name of the extension .mix the webdesign team could not open them so we changed them to jpeg and now they are showing up as .ink. could someone offer any suggestions on how to put these files in jpeg so they will not change when we try and send them. We are trying to send these via email. the isp we are using is AOL. so very frustrating. Any help would be greatly apprectiated..FAST

FILE > SAVE AS. Choose .jpg from the very bottom field in the SAVE AS window (SAVE AS TYPE).

We have done the save as. but it still changes for some reason. also when you right click on the picture and go to properties it shows that the pictures are jpeg but when you send them it comes up something else.

The only thing I can think of then is that AOL is changing the file extensions, and I have heard of that happening before.

I would never touch AOL with a 10ft. pole, so I honestly can't help you fix that one. But if that's what's happening, you might want to try the AOL website or documentation. Surely if they're the ones changing the extensions, they have some means of fixing it for non-AOL recipients.

Good luck!

hey, check this out... the .ink stands for a shortcut. so what you're doing is sending these people shortcuts to your images. this did happen to one of my friends, but they have verizon and it was happening on yahoo. im just tellin' ya though, the .ink is a shortcut file.
