I made a small website of 3 static pages with some text and pictures. Then I got a DNS registered with DynDNS and downloaded the apache webserver for windows XP on my toshiba laptop 1.8Ghz centrino/1GB. I can browse this website from any computer on the local network by just typing the url "www.murtaza.is-a-geek.com" in IE7 or firefox. However I can ping this URL from outside but cannot load page on browser. I have 3Mbps charter broadband and forwarded the port 80 on linksys router. In XP firewall exceptions tab i added port 80 and chose the option TCP. Am i missing anything here for the outside world to browze the website.... i also did some google and downloded a neat tool from microsoft and tried to fix the winsock..but i didn't knew what i was doing my fixing the winsock ..No luck as yet...Thanks for any help in this regard. This is my first website i ever put my hands on.
