Hi,
Because this is a touchy subject due to spammers I can't seem to find very much good information about it.
I've got a growing opt-in list and also a large email client base for my dad's company and mailing them through Outlook Express was becoming a nightmare. I downloaded a bulkmailing program and I immediately ran into a message with it that my IP was blocked by sorbs.net:
Requesting SMTP servers for this domain (netbutleronline.com [my website - a test])
Trying DNS Server "168.210.2.2"
Sending DNS Request
2 SMTP Relays found: mx2.supremebox.com mx1.supremebox.com
Trying SMTP host "mx2.supremebox.com"
Opening Connection

Socket error 10004
WSAEINTR (10004) Interrupted system call

WSAEINTR (10004) Interrupted system callSo with that in hand I thought it would be a simple thing to sort out... A week later and I still have no clue as to what I must really do to be able to send through that program! I'm hearing about static IP's, I've tried no-ip.com and I still get the same error message, I've tried other bulkmailer programs, I'm hearing that I have to set up my own server and there's so much conflicting information and I don't really know which route to go.
I'd be deeply appreciative if someone could set me on the proper (and simplest) path for setting up my computer to be able to send through a program like WorldCast. Do I need a whole server setup or do I just need a static IP or what!
I'm pretty confused and would appreciate some advice. I've thought about fulfilment type services but I'd rather control the mailing myself, especially to my father's clientelle.
Thanks for your time,
waterprism

if you ask for the simplest way to solve the problem ---> use a mailing list :D is there a specific reason for using your own PC & internet connection?
some hosting provider has mailing list management included in their service, you can have a mailing list with your own domain, no need to worry about being blocked or anything because I suppose they already tune everything to comply with bulk mailing ethics.

I downloaded a bulkmailing program
/snapyou should stay away from those things (and other shady practice on the internet) :D for now maybe you can email the admins who blocked your IP and explain to them.
