Like instead of typing like ping/telnet/browser 195.16.0.67, I'd type, ping/telnet/browser/whatever www.whatever.com or something like that. Hope this is clear enugh. Thanks in advance. No you don't, not unless you have a domain name registered to your IP address with a domain name registrar in which case you will use their Domain Name Server. It is the server that resolves a domain name to an IP address. To go the other way, turn an IP address into a domain name is called a reverse DNS lookup. The site posted by smbotans will do that. However if you want to pin by domain name you can just type ping www.whatever.com and the ping/telnet commands will do the necessary DNS lookup for you. Stuart
