Hi all Having completed my first client web site, how do i now go about getting the site to appear on serach engines like google and yahoo,etc, when someone carries out a search? thanks

Each of the major search engines have "spiders" special programs that traverse links throughout the internet and index them as they go. You could wait for that to happen OR you could go to each search engine and submit your site for immediate indexing. For google, on the home page click the "About Google" link. Than on the next page select the "Submit you content to Google". Follow the directions from there. There is also a "Webmaster Info" link with information on how to properly code your site for proper indexing. Michael J

Try and get your link on as many directories as possible and wait for google to do the work. Do not submit yourself to them as it is a longer process. My Website

What do you mean "get myself on directories"? Can you explain plz? Hows the best way to get the keywords on my site? I read META tags are now rarely being used, so how do i get keywords from my pages appearing for Google searches?
