Each of the major search engines have "spiders" special programs that traverse links throughout the internet and index them as they go. You could wait for that to happen OR you could go to each search engine and submit your site for immediate indexing.
For google, on the home page click the "About Google" link. Than on the next page select the "Submit you content to Google". Follow the directions from there. There is also a "Webmaster Info" link with information on how to properly code your site for proper indexing.

a word of caution if i may ... before submitting your site to search engines, you need to make sure that your site is properly optimized for the right keywords you want to target
this whole area is called SEO or 'search engine optimization'
check out my free 'seo report' tool at www.seo-analysis.com/online-tools to see if the site is ready for search engines
