I am trying to get my apache web server to work online, its working at http://localhost so it works.

I have a Zoom X5 modem router with NAT so I have made the web servers IP static, assigned it an address outside the DHCP server range and made it the DMZ.

The modem then instructed me to use the routers IP address to access the DMZ computer from the internet however when I try to access it it asks for a username and password as if it was not the DMZ...

Any ideas, I have tried opening port 80 TCP/UDP as port forwarding/virtual server on the IP address.

Any ideas? thanks a lot!

If its important the router gateway IP is 10.0.0.2 and the DHCP gives the computers IP's in the range of 10.0.0.4 to 10.0.0.15. The web server IP is static at 10.0.0.16 which is what i set the DMZ then the virtual servers too.

locally your webserver address will be http://10.0.0.16

online, the address will be the address of your router on WAN side, providng you have a virtual server running on your router to allocate port 80 requests to 10.0.0.16 it should work

And make sure you have disabled the option to control the router from the WAN-side. Otherwise the router will be a 'little webserver' when you enter the routers IP address from the outside.

OK, I have got rid of the DMZ stuff cos that didn't work. I have made the virtual servers 10.0.0.16 (the servers network IP) and made sure that there are no other virtual servers or things running on port 80...

Still asks for a username and password... any other ideas?
