Hi, I am just starting to realise I dont know what I am doing!!!

I installed apache to allow me to do some dynamic web pages.

I do not want to view these web pages on any other computer as yet.

I have a main PC, wired to a wireless router, my son has another pc wired to the wireless router. I also have a laptop with wireless connection. It is this I am trying to set apache up on.
Each computer has sygate firewall installed and running

I followed the install instruction and was asked for my network domain name server name and admin email etc.

It gave me a default name "belkin", which I changed to my home.com and server name as serverhome.com

The apache service is running and connected, however when I type HTTP://localhost/ I get page cannot be displayed error.

Where is your index.html file, ie your home page? It has to be in this location (and it should to be named index.html):
C/Apache/htdocs

Also, when you want to view your index.html locally, in the browser type in:
http://127.0.0.1/

Also, the main configuration file can be very difficult to twick so it works right, specially if you have cgi scpits. I can send you my config file if the above suggestions make no difference for you...
