Here is the situation.. again.. (boy there are times I hate the way these message forums here are laid out)

I have installed Apache 2.0 server, PHP 5, and MS SQLServer 2000 on my computer. I can connect to PHP from my IE browser by putting the appropriate .php file in the .htdocs folder of my Apache folder. If I thpe http://localhost/phpinfo.php I get the php info of my current PHP configuration.

However if I type http://localhost/G:\Flintknapper Forum site\Home\.panel\web\bulletin\bb\index.php I get the follwoing error:
FORBIDDEN: You don't have permission to access /G:/Flintknapper Forum site/Home/.panel/web/bulletin/bb/index.php on this server.
Apache/2.0.54 (Win32) PHP/5.0.5-dev Server at localhost Port 80

Also it shows 403 Forbidden- I want to just test our new modifications on my local computer before sending to the server website. Any ideas why I cannot access a folder and file on my local computer and have it run like it was out there on the web?

I'm assuming you left the DocumentRoot line in the httpd.conf file as the default, which is looking for all files and folders you specify in the htdocs folder. You'll need to place Flintknapper Forum site\Home\.panel\web\bulletin\bb\index.php within that folder.

I don't like the way this forum is laid out either, that is why we've started our own at ResourcePC.com
