Comment:
I have a site which I constructed using FrontPage 2000. The guestbook is a resource for comments regarding freedom of expression, among other things.
Every day that I check it, it's got four or five spam submissions, which are strings of URLs sent by various "bots"...very annoying. Any ideas how to block these, or at least reduce the regularity of their occurrence? I'm having to clear my guestbook log every day. Junkeater.com is one resource I've looked into, but my post-url doesn't seem to match the parameters outlined in their install instructions. Is there a simple line of code I can paste into the guestbooks HTML, or can I edit a line or two? Thanks!

Is there a way in your guestbook settings which allow you to review posts before they appear in your guestbook.

Hi,

Add some form feild validation and only allow letters, numbers, whitespaces and a few punctuation marks such as ',." don't allow : or /

I did it with my personal site and it seems to be working well.

a tutoral on what to look for can be found at http://www.xunil.co.nz/guestbook-secure.htm
