Hello,
Is there a special init string for a zoom modem to work with Solaris 2.4. This replaces an old Multitech modem that worked for 12 years. It looks like the handshaking or parity or flow control is wrong. I get a grabled login and the characters are echoed back very slow. Seems like it is connecting at a very slow speed. Also, I get a carriage return but it does not go back to the beginning of the line. Thanks in advance

Yes, almost every modem needs an int string.
Sounds more like the ports speed or settings are off rather than init.

Try simple AT command

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Here is what I get when I login to the Solaris server. I get a login and then it is all garbled up. Seems like I get a line feed but no carriage return. Also, the words are turned into control characters of some sort.

Thanks in advance for any help

Oh, you are trying to use a dial up modem to connect remotely to a solaris server?

Almost looks like a language deal but I don't know how.

Can you seemingly use common commands to get output. (ls and such)
