Hi Please help me to run XWindows on SiS 6215C card. I am using RedHat Linux 6.1 given in PCQuest Nov '99 cd.
Though the driver is given there, it does not work.

i think some thing serious has to be done by the redhat company .The sis6215C card should be included at least by the next release.

Here comes the saviour!
Download the file XF86_SVGA, available as is and part of XFree86 3.3.x from the ftp site of xfree86.org
Once done, place it in the relevant directory, ie, /etc/X11 or /usr/X11R6 or whatever, I don't remember clearly. Then run XConfigurator or whatever you use, setup the symbolic links to the file you have downloaded and hopefully it should go now.
If not, open the XF86Config file from /etc/X11 or whatever and add the line
ChipSet "SIS86C215"
to the Graphics section.
Way to go!!
