Hi! I had SCO 5.02 and Win95 on my computer(200MMX). After updating to Win98 I can't use SCO anymore. Tried with fdisk, reinstalling SCO and then cancelling and with SCO boot disk and mounting, no success. The program "Bootport.exe" can find the unix partititon but the boot record seems to be corrupted. How could I get my unix files back ??

If all you need is your files you need an OS that recognizes your file system and be able to mount your disk. That is why you should have boot disks made. I would save what you want on windows and then put an OS that has enough brains to browse around another file system and Win98 ain't it. Put SCO on you Dos partition then at least get your files. BUT NEVER INSTALL WINDOWS AFTER BUT ALWAYS BEFORE!!!!! I also run win95 and I am not paying $80 for a bug fix.

Try `fdisk /mbr' then try installing the unix boot loader. Might work. Eric

windows *fixed* my MBR for me too easiest way is to get your hands on norton commander and setup a separate boot partition link that to your approprate loaders and you should be on your way
