Comment:

I have win 98 and NT set-up as duel boot and all is well. Now I have installed Corel Linux (plug and play) and all is not well. On start up corel appears with the option to move on to win. This works just fine, I go on to win and have the option NT or 98. If I choose Linux (the first time I got a Blair witch type of flickering screen) I get fsck failed please repair manually and reboot as well as root file system is read only. Any takers?

if you have a root password: Type your root password - press ENTER
At prompt Type: fsck /dev/hdax (where x = number of your root directory) - press ENTER
you will be prompted to type y
Type y everytime it asks you for an input
Finally you will get message: "/dev/hdax *** file system was modified ***"
At prompt, type exit - press ENTER

there you go, i hope this helps!
