Subject: Where to learn about PC-BSD?
OS: PC-BSD
CPU/Ram: 300/192
Model/Manufacturer: generic
Comment:
Hello, I recently installed PC-BSD on my old PII 300MHz pc and love it, it runs surprisingly quick, as well has great graphics even on an old nVidia GeForce2 (32Mb video card), however the only issue is with the sound. Regardless of if I use older ISA card(s) or a PCI sound card it will not load the drivers but the OS does recognize the card.

I am new to PC-BSD/Unix as being a life long Windows user. I understand that BSD is not as easy as Windows as far as to just download a driver and click on the .exe file.

Where can I learn to open up the terminal window log in as Root and type in commands that will help me solve my sound issue?

Do you know how helpless you feel if you have a full cup of coffee in your hand and you start to sneeze?
