Where Can I Get A free Copy Of Unix?

I would Lie to run unix on one of my cpu's, but I don't have a copy of it. Where can I get a copy of unix for free. I do not have a connection to the internet any more.

Without an internet connection, free is basically out of the question. For $25 - $100 you can pick up a linux or FreeBSD distribution. Better yet, find someone with a DSL/Cable modem and have them download and burn you a copy of one of the above. If you desperately need to run in a windows environment, look up cygwin.

Sometimes you can find a copy of linux in one of the CD magazines like Maximum PC or in a computer manual (Using Linux from Que Corp. came with 3 versions).

you can get several copies of many linux
distributions freely, if you have internet
connection

visit: http://www.linuxiso.org

here you can download image files to burn it
to a CD-R, and after that you have a complete
install CD-set!

i recommend Debian GNU/Linux to use
have fun!
