Hi,
I am having a major problem. I am running AIX 4.3.3 and I have lost access to the filesystems in a volume group.
When I run df -k I get I/O errors for the filesystems within the volume group.
When I run lsvg -l datavg I get the following error message:
root@gbscrib:/> lsvg -l datavg
0516-034 : Unable to access volume group device. Execute
redefinevg to build correct environment. The volume group appears to be there and ok and the filesystems seem to be mounted ok.
root@gbscrib:/> lsvg -o
csarchivevg
data3vg
data2vg
datavg
data4vg
rootvgI tried the redefinevg and it hasn't helped.
Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this one?
Thanks

In order not to foul things up worse than they are, I would recommend you get the IBM redbooks on the subject. Go to www.redbooks.ibm.com and download SG24-5432 and SG24-5432. These are extensive redbooks on the AIX Logical Volume Manager.
