Hi:

I'm interested in your results of your research. I have an OpenSever 5.0.5 Host system with 30 users licensing, and want to do the same thing.

The licensing is a matter of the license key.
As for the in place upgrade, I think it can be done. (don't quote me though). The reason I say this is that I think the the core operating system components are very much the same, only major things such as kernel images etc to support TCP/IP and other networking related products need to be put in the environs. I bet it dependent upon the size of the root file system to make sure you have all the space for all the components.

Let me know if my assumptions were right or wrong. And the outcome.

I will also let you know I have many (i.e. well more than you could shake a stick at for several days!) of OpenServer 5.0.5 Host licenses that can be upgraded, providing a signficiant discount as to buying new OpenServer 5.0.6 or even for Microsoft 2000 server products. Let me know you outcome of the upgrade process, and if you know anyone that could use my surplus licenses.
