Unix vs novell. this is very simple. Unix beats novell IN EVERY ASPECT!!!! Speed, reliablitiy, flexibiltiy, etc. My god, how could you even compare the two. Novell barely counts as an operating system, it is just a network manager/server emulator for DOS. Even the free unices kick novells ass. Look at linux and freebsd. Now, I have heard a novell admin defend novell against unix with this, centeralized administration. Well EVER HEARD OF LINUXCONF (Linux) OR SYSTEM MANAGER (IRIX), OR ANY OF THE MILLIONS OF OTHER ADMINSTRATION TOOLS FOR LINUX! My god, you can't even telnet into a novell server! And the solutions for doing so don't even come close to working. And how about developement for these systems? Well lets see, Unix is a system that features every single facility for developement thinkable, not to mention ton's of books and electronic references. Hell, there are even completely open source unix systems! As for developement for Novell, forget it, it's not even worth trying. Oh an as for novell's new open source thing, HA! That's all I have to say for it, HA! Unix and NT coders will pick apart the source code for a few neat little enhancements, but there will be few if any, "Novell open source developers." In summary, Novell netware sucks in every way, even when compared to Windows (fuck, windows 95 makes a better server! Double fuck, minesweeper makes a better server!). Unix however is true to its name, UNIversal eXperts operating system. It is an operating systems by experts for experts.
