Comment:

Have written an awk and sed script contained in a .bat file. It operates on a long input text file. What I want to do is have the .bat file operate this way: when I type in the name of the .bat file and hit return, the .bat file asks me 'What is the name of the file '. I type in the name, the file is assigned a variable and the file then operates on the file/variable with me awk/sed script in the .bat file. I have done this before but a long time ago and have forgotten the exact awk/unix script to use. Any help is thankfully accepted.
