Subject: Unix root password login problem
|
Comment: I'm running Solaris 8 in a single user (SPARC 5) workstation. I'm a begineer with little UNIX skill. I'm unable to login as a root with the following message: "localhost sendmail[203]:unable to qualify my own domain name (localhost)--using short name". System would not allow root or any other user to login. Any suggestion?

Reply: (edit)Enter a fully qualified domain name into your hosts file and the message will go away forever: x.x.x.x hostname loghost hostname.domain.com
