Hi, i am a MCSE technician and i have never done anything with unix before. Due to my job requirement, i was told that i need to learn some linux. My question is i have a computer here ready to install a Linux OS, and there is so many of version of Linux out there,so i kind of lost, any sugguestions on the O.S i should install for a person level like me?

Stick with Red Hat or SuSe, which seem to be the most popular right now.

I want get my own dedicated server using pentium 4 1.7 cpu with 328 megs of ram, and 200 gig hard drive isntalled in windowx xp home only. Wil i be able to set up dedicated server account off this equipment i own? Let me know before i run into any problems.
