Unix Hardware configuration file

Does anyone know if there is a hardware configuration file to view in Unix. I am looking for something similar to what is in LINUX. It is located in /etc/sysconfig and the file that I am reading is hwconf. If anyone knows of anything containg remotely similair information for UNIX that would be great.
