Hi,

I would like to know if anyone knows of a PC based Unix program that I can download for free.

I'm learning UNIX via book and would like to try the examples on my PC.

Thank You

Henry

For Linux, Slackware is more UNIX-like, in my opinion. Another good option is FreeBSD. Solaris is a proprietary UNIX, but you can download it for free if you create an account. If you want an OS that can also be used for general stuff, RedHat is one of the easiest, however. Finally, if all you want to do is test command-line stuff, you can just get an account at freeshell.org.
